Monterey County Alumnae Chapter History

Founded in 1870 as the first Greek Letter Fraternity among women, Kappa Alpha Theta is a bond of sisterhood that lasts in the past, present, and future.

The Monterey County Alumnae Chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta was granted a charter by the Grand Council to transition from an "alumnae club" into an official chapter on November 22, 2002. In order to receive a charter, the club was required to have at least 15 active members in good standing with Kappa Alpha Theta. Today, alumnae sisters living in the Monterey, Santa Cruz, and San Benito Counties of California are welcome to join our chapter. Our alumnae chapter offers a welcoming social and philanthropic experience for locals to continue their Theta sisterhood.
